early poems

Sailing | 7th grade | 12 years old

Sailing out, over the sea,
The wind a-blowing, the stars that led,
I heard again, "We told you so," they said.
I turned and faced them, twenty strong,
I knew I could not hold out for long,
It's mutiny, I cried to my crew,
"You lied, Columbus, see what happens to you!
Your mama she told you , the world was a-flat
You say, "Shaddap, you stupid old bat."
You tell usthe world, she is a-round,
You say, "Sail West, you find-a ground."
The edge of the earth, giant waterfall, LOOK!
The end of the world, not the end of a brook!
I looked and saw that it ws true.
"We told you so," they said. "We told you!"

The Andromeda Stain! | 9th grade | 14 years old

Classified: Part I

Out of space it came,
along with detergents shame
the enemy was
The Andromeda Stain

The stain wouldn't lift,
The powdere'd not sift,
The laundrymat's pain,
The Andromeda Stain

The president said,
And talke til red
Said he's rather be dead,
Than have covered his man, with,
The Andromeda Stain

The people were disturbed,
For now all had heard,
Scientists searched, but all in vain,
The Andromeda Stain

Doctor Mix A. chem (MD) tried,
"I did it!" he cried,
He worked 'til insane
The Andromeda Stain

A white shirt was laundered,
The puzzled woman pondered,
It had turned all greyn*
The Andromeda Stain

Dr. Chem's secret was again found,
The stains to be subject to
High decible sound,
The nation's clothes were
Sent to University of Maine,
The Andromeda Stain

The clothes in a room at the Un-i-ver-sity,
Then came the sound,
All high-fidelity
The grayn mass shrank
To the size of a drop of rain,
The Andromeda Stain

The nation was free of the ungrateful pile,
The people were angry
The "in" thing was grayn,
But alas, no,
Andromeda Stain

Part II

Or so they thought,
The scientists watched it rot,
But rot caused pain, to
The Andromeda Stain

To the scientists surprise,
It blasted, to the skies,
Who was to blame? Not
The Andromeda Stain

Pierre, a fashion designer,
Converted a luxery liner,
To a rockt, hoping to gain, a piece of
The Andromeda Stain

Scientists still had a piece,
The size of a grain
And research had found,
Something marvelous
About the Stain,

They found a remarkable brain,
Who was more intelligent, us or
The Andromeda Stain?

"Who knows, who cares?"
The population said,
the scientist replied,
"Yer outa yer head!
Search every street!
Search every lane!
We must find more of
The Andromeda Stain

Pierre's rocket ship
Had completed its trip
Everyone watched,
And every neck craned,
The ship was infested with
The Andromeda Stain

The stain was provided,
When the rocket collided,
With the University of Maine,
Now they had lots of
The Andromeda Stain

Scientists had research done,
"I found it!!" cried one,
"This is the answer, lest I lose my fame,
The Andromeda Stain

The formula was smelling,
The stench was very repelling,
"It works so don't complain"
The Andromeda Stain

"What's it do?" asked the people,
when he was done,
It destroys the enemy's brain cells, every one
the best part is, it stills turns grayn
The Andromeda Stain

Pierre had it sold,
the price got very bold
It doubled again and again,
The Andromeda Stain

Everyone was pleased,
The gray fashion never ceased,
How could it, with
An infesting growing grayn?
Everyone loved
The Andromeda Stain
