A Trap Door
What lies behind a trap door? "Nothing," some people might say. But one, especially, is somewhat different.
One can't tell much from the outside, but what lies behind it is the unknown until someone is brave enough to conquer it.
Why do I say "brave"?
Because the word "trap door" sends chills up many peoples' backs. I am afraid I'm talking more about feelings than "my trap door." I call it mine because I am creating it now, on this sheet of paper.
Behind my door is nothing eerie or spooky, but one might be quite surprised at first. As you fall through, or should I say "you float down," the cold increasees rapidly as you descend. A green cast glows upon your clothes and hands.
There is no visible bottom or walls--just a great endlessness of green. You cannot even see the top from whence you came. The color changes from green to a blue cast and from blue to purple to red and then yellow.
There is no sound, although the beating of your heart will burst your ear drums!
When yo usee the yellow cast, a faint outline of yourself appears. The laughting and giggling will drive you crazy, the way it echoes.
And then, you find yourself back where you were in the first place--in front of the trap door--and you remind yourself not to go into it again. A clock says 3:15--five minutes before you stepped into the trap door!
If you ever step into a trap door like this, it is purely coincidental (because I just made it up). But don't be afraid if you do. You'll end up right where you started five minutes before!
